1) Although the obligation to grandparents is only to honor them and not to be in awe of them, it is still proper to not call grandparents by their given names and rather refer to them as "Grandpa" and "Grandma" or "Zaidy" and "Bubby" or similar variations of these titles of respect.
If a grandparent passes away and there is nobody to say Kadish for them, it is proper for the grandson to say Kadish.
2) If a parent requests a task of a child and at the same time a grandparent makes a request, the child should oblige the parent first.
If, however, they were all in the same room at the time, and thus the father would be obligated to heed the request of his parent, the grandchild should indeed attend to the grandparent's request first. (See Shu"t Teshuva M'Ahava Siman 178)

Reader's Question:
Are you supposed to answer 'Amen" to a [small child's] bracha?
Answer:
See archives, halachos for June 25 2009 here.
Rav Shlomo Zalmen Auerbach Zatzal (in Halichos Shlomo Perek 22:20) writes that although a regular Amen is not said when hearing a Bracha from a child that does not understand to whom he is saying the bracha (Hashem), one should pretend to answer Amen by saying an incomplete "Ame..." so the child should think that you answered amen and learn to answer Amen to brachos that he hears.

Chizuk For Today:
The sin of the Meraglim, the spies, was that they believed "it could not be done". It is so easy to be guilty of the same sin, especially when dealing with the powerful desires of the Yetzer Hara. We must realize that even if people might think that it's not physically possible to be truly holy in today's crazy world, G-d is not limited to their abilities. Many people who originally thought it was impossible, learned to put their full trust in G-d and give over their desires to Him. Just like a child trusts his father and jumps into his waiting arms - even from a height - without the slightest fear, we need to be able to just "let go" of our desires and trust fully that G-d will take care of us.
If we do this, then Hashem will indeed bring us through the desert and into Eretz Yisrael. As it is written: "Zacharti Lach Chesed Ne'urayich - Lech tech acharai Bamidbar...I remember the kindness of your youth i.e. how you gave over your trust [when I said to you:] "follow me into the barren desert"...

- one who studies [at least two] Halachos daily is assured a portion in Olam Haba - the world to come. (Talmud Niddah 73a)
