1) Even
if one doesn't intend to speak untruthfully, but somehow as the words
came out they ended up being lies, the prohibition of lying has been
transgressed.
Every Jew must carefully measure and examine their words
before speaking them to ensure that they will not contain any falsehood.
(See Rabbeinu Yonah in Sha'arei Teshuva Sha'ar 3)
2)
The above is true even if no gain has been had by the one saying the
lie, and no harm has befallen anyone else either due to this lie.
(See Rabbeinu Yonah ibid. Chelek 4 and 9 and Sfas Tamim Chapter 6)

topic and Answers. Taken from the Q & A pages on the

Although the answers I give to
questions are taken directly from the Sifrei HaPoskim, and aren't my
own, they are still for study purposes only, NOT for Psak Halacha.
I am told
that the names of the Hebrew months have significance. For instance, Nissan is for the month that is
destined to have nissim (miracles) ,Iyar
is the mnemonic for Ani Hashem Rofecha. My question is: What are the meanings for the
remaining ten months?
Answer:
The names of the months are not Hebrew. The Torah doesnt
mention them, rather only calls them by their numbers. The Ramban
(Shmos 12:2) discusses the origins of these names and they are
babylonian etc.
Our holy sages, the Chazal tell us
תנא דבי אליהו כל השונה הלכות בכל
יום מובטח לו שהוא בן עולם הבא, שנאמר הליכות עולם לו, אל תקרי הליכות
אלא הלכות -
one who studies [at least two] Halachos daily is assured a portion in
Olam Haba - the world to come.
