A. Remah (695:4) rules that in principle men should not send Shalach Monos to women and vice versa, as it may create a doubt of of Kidushin.
Therefore in our case it may create a situation of early Kidushin and cause doubt on the brochois recited by the chupa.
However, Horav Shlomo Mille”s opinion is that one may be lenient, since as is, it customary that a couple to be married do send gifts to each other.
