When Purim falls on Erev Shabbos, as it does this year, the Purim seudah should ideally begin and preferably be well underway prior to chatzos (midday) in order to preserve a healthy appetite for the upcoming seudas leil Shabbos. This year, chatzos will be at 1:27 pm. If the seudah does not begin prior to chatzos, it should begin as early as possible thereafter, but ultimately, it may start at any time during the day.
The seuda should be a festive fleishig meal, as we serve every Purim.
Many have a commendable practice to give mishloach manos to many people, in order to foster friendship. However, the chiyuv/requirement is to give one mishloach manos, consisting of minimally two types of food (even if they are the same bracha) to one individual.
