June 20, 2024 from the Chasam Sofer certification, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu – Safed The following items have been recalled due to a failure in proper supervision and certification by those responsible of these foods: From Spain: Any wine bearing the Chatam Sofer BB symbol. Including the popular Cava wine. . From France: All the following items when bearing the Chatam Sofer BB symbol: All champagne All milk powder All butter All surimi None of these products should be consumed. Clarification letter from Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Pevzner translated from Hebrew: Translated by Rabbi Nissan Zibell: In response to many inquiries, I would like to clarify that all Israeli dairy products and cheeses produced by the Makabi company (Kesh Service) in France are made under my strict supervision and in the presence of experienced and G-d-fearing mashgichim (who have been working with us for many years and are not affiliated with any other Kashrus agency). Our trained mashgichim meticulously supervise from the beginning of milking or production, until the end of the packaging (not relying on the concept of Yotzeh Venichnas- a mashgiach going in and out). This is based on the the tradition I received from my father of Rabbi Hillel Pevzner A”H, Rabbi of the Lubavitcher Congregation in France, who gave his life to establish Kashrus in the country of France and beyond. He was the the first to introduce Cholov Yisroel milk into France. We strive to adhere to all instructions that he gave us, to strengthen and elevate Kashrus standards, especially in the matter of Cholov Yisrael, which it is known that Chabad Chassidim gave their lives for Cholov Yisrael and to keep Kashrus to the strictest standard. This includes all our products, both those sold in France and other countries, as well as those imported to Israel (the "Chug Chatam Sofer B"B stamp on the products is only for import into Israel.)
June 18, 2024 Please note that Happy Bites Chocolate Covered Coffee Beans manufactured by Eat Play Happy Inc. has an unauthorized cRc logo on its packaging. Additionally, the products contain butterfat, as listed on the ingredient panel, and the unauthorized cRc logo indicates it is pareve. Corrective action is being taken.
Appliance Alert: Wolf Wall Ovens June 6, 2024 from the Star-K: The Sabbath Mode in the models listed below was not correctly implemented according to STAR-K specifications. Pressing "+" or "-" to adjust the temperature causes a display change on the screen, which is forbidden on Yom Tov. One may not adjust the temperature of these ovens on Yom Tov, even when in Sabbath Mode. All other Sabbath Mode functions work properly. In 2011 "there were quite a few cases of due to Salmonella bacteria-related illness in New York City that are linked to eating MealMart brand kosher broiled chicken livers from the Schreiber Processing Corporation that were not cooked. Kashrut Information: Breyer’s Lactose Free Plus Chocolate Animal-Free Frozen Dairy Dessert May 28, 2024 from Kof-K: Breyer’s Lactose Free Plus Chocolate Animal-Free Frozen Dairy Dessert bears a Kof-K DE and a notice that it contains milk protein. "Breyers partnered with Perfect Day to use their animal-free whey protein in their lactose-free ice cream. Perfect Day uses precision fermentation to create a highly functional whey protein that offers the same taste and texture as traditional whey protein but with a reduced environmental footprint. This innovation allows Breyers to maintain its signature creamy taste while catering to lactose intolerant consumers and reducing environmental impact . "In light of the fact that they were able to copy of the Characteristics of whey so precisely it is unknown if the “imitation whey” will cause the same allergic reaction hence they adds the milk allergen warning. The non-animal whey protein is actually certified as Parve. The Breyers ND IC is certified as DE as it’s pasteurized on the same line as the dairy ice cream (after a CIP) "Perfect Day’s culture is STAR-K Pareve. It loses that status at intermediate or final stage plants (under different hechsherim) which propagate it on equipment shared with dairy."
Napoli Artichoke Hearts Cans of Napoli Artichoke Hearts bear an unauthorized STAR-K symbol. Product was found in a grocery store in Connecticut. STAR-K does not certify artichoke hearts due to insect infestation. The product should not be used. Corrective action is being taken.

London Beth Din Kashrut Information: Bendicks Mint Collection- corrected September 20, 2023 from the London Beth Din Twitter (X): Bendicks have announced their intention to drop #kosher certification for all their mint chocolates. The correct brocha is ’hamotzi’.

It has come to our attention that some KitchenAid KRFF577KPS 26.8 Cu. Ft. Standard-Depth French Door Refrigerator with Exterior Ice & Water Dispenser units have a malfunctioning Sabbath Mode. This issue has been identified in recently purchased units. To determine if you own an affected unit, enter Sabbath Mode and hold down the door switches. If you hear a fan activate or deactivate when the switches are pressed and released, then Sabbath Mode is not working correctly. KitchenAid is working on a solution to resolve the issue. In the interim, to use on Shabbos or Yom Tov, STAR-K recommends taping down the door switches along with setting Sabbath Mode. Shemittah Wine Alert Israeli wines from the 2022 vintage were produced during the shemittah year and are currently available in the local Chicago market and beyond. Some were produced in reliance on the heter mechirah, and for those who do not subscribe to that position, the wine is forbidden (since it did not have a proper biur). These wines may be labeled as heter mechirah, but any 2022 wine from Israel should be carefully checked for this concern. Others were produced using the Otzar Beis Din setup (and are labeled accordingly); they have fulfilled the biur requirement, but it is generally accepted that they still have kedushas shevi’is. Accordingly, if they were purchased, they may be consumed but should be treated with kedushas shevi’is. February 29, 2024 from the Kof-K in response to a question from the Kashrus.com editor: Lindt LINDOR Non-Dairy Oatmilk Candy bears a Kof-K dairy. It is dairy, even thought the product is listed as vegan. From the Kof-K: "Please note the KOF-K certifies and labels items as Parve, Dairy, Meat and DE. We use DE when we can and if we did not it is because the item is Halachically dairy even if the ingredient legend does not seem to contain any dairy components and you should use that item as it is marked."
February 28, 2024 from the OU: Oriental L’ideo de Camote, Oriental Industria Alimenticia O.I.A. S.A., Ecuador has an unauthorized OU Mark: The Orthodox Union does not certify Oriental L’ideo de Camote, a package of Noodles with packets of Miso and Chicken seasoning. Some packages of L’ideo de Camote bears an unauthorized OU mark. Corrective actions are being implemented.
