These cookies contain dairy as stated on the ingredient panel and allergen warning and are certified as kosher dairy. Corrective action is being taken.

Cucina Viva Frozen Artichoke Hearts 4-pound packages of frozen Cucina Viva Quartered Artichoke Hearts, produced in Turkey and distributed by European Imports, Inc. (a Sysco Company), bear an unauthorized STAR-K symbol. STAR-K does not certify artichoke hearts due to insect infestation. The product should not be used. Corrective action is being taken.
December 18, 2024 from the OU: Osmo Chicken & Herbs Salt, Osmo Salt LLC, Boston MA has an unauthorized OU: The Orthodox Union does not certify Osmo Chicken & Herbs Salt. Some labels bear an unauthorized OU mark. Corrective actions are being implemented.
December 16, 2024 from the FDA Frito-Lay today issued a recall of a limited number of 13 oz. bags of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips that may contain undeclared milk, after being alerted through a consumer contact. Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product. The product included in this recall was distributed to certain retail stores and e-commerce distributors in Oregon and Washington. Consumers would have been able to purchase these chips as early as November 3, 2024. The recalled product is in a flexible bag. If consumers have an allergy or sensitivity to milk, they should not consume the product and discard it immediately. Frito-Lay has informed the FDA of this action. Consumers with the product described above can contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 (9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday).

Check each package.

Kosher Alert Terra Vita Oils December 11, 2024 from the OU: Terra Vita Oils (all varieties), Terra Vita Oils, Hauppauge NY have an unauthorized OU. The Orthodox Union does not certify any Terra Vita oil products. Some Terra Vita oils are labeled with an unauthorized OU. Corrective actions are being implemented.
November 27, 2024 from the OK: Brand: Golda Company: Anatolian Food Distribution Corp/Nema Food Corp dba Golda Gourmet Foods (18 Commerce Rd, Fairfield NJ 07004) Issue: Unauthorized Use of OK Mark Various pastry products under the brand ‘Golda’ sold by Golda Gourmet Foods bear an unauthorized OK. OK Kosher does not certify this company or their products. Corrective actions are being taken.

The STAR-K announced that Starbucks has decided to end its expanded kosher information program. Effective immediately, STAR-K will only recommend a limited number of Starbucks beverages and can no longer verify the kosher status of many flavored items and additives that were previously included in its listings. Shmitta Wine Alert from the COR: We have been informed that Israeli wines from the 2022 vintage that were produced during the shmitta year are currently available in the kosher sections of the local LCBO. There are concerns about the certification and heterim used, as well as the issue of kedushas shevi’is. Contact the COR or your Rav for more information, should you want to buy these wines, or were given one. More info in the communitylink.ca current issue.
November 27, 2024 "Tsar Nicoulai Caviar" Gift Boxes Gift packages sold by Tsar Nicoulai Caviar and marked "Blini" are mislabeled with the STAR-D symbol. The packages contain STAR-D certified Blini (Russian-style pancakes) along with jars of NON-KOSHER certified caviar and crème fraîche. Consumers should be aware that the STAR-D label on the box does not apply to the non-kosher products. Corrective action is being taken.
Sunny Fresh Light and Fluffy ESL (Liquid Eggs) Brand: Sunny Fresh Product: Light and Fluffy ESL (liquid eggs) Company: Cargill Kitchen Solutions Issue The Orthodox Union certifies Light and Fluffy ESL (Liquid Eggs) OU D-Dairy products. The products contain dairy as indicated in the ingredients and allergens statements. Some packaging was printed with an OU symbol, without the D-Dairy designation. Corrective actions are being implemented.

Jelly Belly Candy Company Issue: Jelly Belly has informed the Orthodox Union that, due to changes in one of their factories, Jelly Belly products produced in that location will soon no longer be kosher. There is no change in the Jelly Belly formulation, but because of production changes, other non-kosher products will be produced on shared equipment. As a result, all Jelly Belly products sold outside of North America will soon appear in packaging without an OU symbol. Some limited production Jelly Belly items (mostly seasonal items) in North America will also lose their OU symbol. All bulk Jelly Belly jelly beans sold in North America will continue to be produced under OU’s supervision, and most retail-sized varieties that North American consumers see in stores will remain certified, as well. Consumers are encouraged to check for the OU symbol on all Jelly Belly packaging before purchasing the products.

October 30, 2024 from the COR (Canada): Love Child Organics Apples Strawberry Rhubarb with Yogurt Issue: This product was incorrectly labelled without a DAIRY designation. The product is DAIRY and kosher certified. Corrective action has been taken.
