April 7, 2016 LG OVEN ALERT We have been advised that for all LG STAR-K certified ovens, closing the door turns the oven on immediately. Please consider these ranges, both gas and electric, de-certified until further notice. In order to avoid this issue, install a “ShabboSwitch” available at your local bookstore or online. Any method of keeping the plunger switch on the frame of the oven depressed will work. If using tape, make sure it can withstand the heat of the oven. (Duct tape may not work.) Wellsley Farms 9” Chocolate Cream Cheese, 9” Cookies and Cream, and 9” Raspberry Cream Cheese were mistakenly labeled with the OK kosher symbol and not the OK-D kosher symbol. These products contain dairy ingredients as stipulated in the ingredient and allergen panels. These products are DAIRY. Action Corrective action has been taken.
March 23, 2016 Driftwood 99% Fat Free Vanilla Flavored Lowfat Yogurt Brand: Driftwood Product: 99% Fat Free Vanilla Flavored Lowfat Yogurt Company: Driftwood Dairy, El Monte CA Issue Unauthorized OU The Orthodox Union does not currently certify Driftwood 99% Fat Free Vanilla Flavored Lowfat Yogurt. This product contains gelatin. The containers are labeled with a ’K’ on the cup, however, some lids bear an unauthorized OU. Corrective actions have been implemented. The company is working to reformulate this product, and the Orthodox Union anticipates certifying this product. The certified product will bear an OU D on both the cup and the lid.
OU KASHRUTH ALERT March 23, 2016 Mini-Bicerin Liqueurs Brand: Vicenzi Product: Bicerin Originale Di Giandujotto Liqueur and Bicerin Original White Liqueur Company: Nuove Distillerie Vincenzi SRL, Italy Issue The Orthodox Union certifies Bicerin Originale Di Giandujotto Liqueur and Bicerin Original White Liqueur only when bearing the OU symbol. Miniatures bottles of these products are currently being sold in stores without the OU Symbol. The Orthodox Union does not certify those miniature bottles and consumers should not assume those miniature bottles are kosher certified products.
MK would like to inform the community that there is an unauthorized MK Parve on Ceder Brand Frozen Italian Blend vegetables. Corrective action has been taken.

March 16, 2016 Bosch Cooking Products Please note the following about the Bosch HGI8054UC model slide-in gas range: The oven’s heating source shuts off immediately when the door is opened and re-ignites when it is closed, even when the oven is in Sabbath Mode. We are investigating whether this issue affects other Bosch gas ranges and built-in ovens, as well as electric models. We are suspending certification of all Bosch cooking products until further notice. Consumers are advised not to open or close the oven door on Shabbos or YomTov while the oven is on. OU KASHRUTH ALERT March 10, 2016 La Monegasque Spicy Anchovies Brand La Monegasque Product Filets D’anchois Roules a la Sauce Piquante (Rolled Anchovies Fillets in Hot Sauce) Company Unimer Mehdia, Kenitra Morroco Issue Unauthorized OU The Orthodox Union certifies certain ’La Monegasque’ brand anchovy products. A new product, Rolled Anchovies in Hot Sauce is not certified and bears an unauthorized OU. This product is sold in Europe (and possibly elsewhere) and it is packaged in a French language label that bears an unauthorized OU. Corrective actions are being implemented.
Mélange Alegria Mix 1 kg was inadvertently labeled with a COR 267. This product is not under certification.
Délices Vailli Copeaux de Chocolate Noir Dark Chocolate Shavings 2 kg was inadvertently labeled without a ‘dairy’ designation. The product is DAIRY and kosher certified.
Certain Packages of products under the "Oh Nuts" brand bear an unauthorized cRc logo. In addition, the labels on some of those packages do not indicate that the product is dairy, cholov stam. The cRc does not presently certify any products under the "Oh Nuts" brand. Corrective actions are being taken. Ed. note: From the OK: It is a labeling error. The mislabeled Lavender Chocolate Lentils Gems are OK-D, cholov stam.
Snack Size Jolly Rancher Bites and Twizzlers Bites, in the 9.1 ounce packaging distributed by The Hershey Company (Hershey, PA), contains three varieties of candies: non-kosher Jolly Rancher Bites Filled Gummies—Watermelon, Green Apple and Cherry (.7 ounce size) together with two “OU”-certified varieties, Twizzlers Bites Mixed Berry and Jolly Rancher Bites Soft Chews. The Filled Gummies contain non-kosher gelatin. The outer packaging bears two “OU” symbols. The non-kosher Jolly Rancher Bites do not bear an “OU” and there is a small disclaimer saying “Package contains kosher and non-kosher items.”
