April 22, 2016/Erev Pesach 5776 Dear Kosher Insiders: After further clarification, the company has confirmed - and lab results support - that the white strands identified below are not worms. Rather they are small sprouts that grow and break off from the seeds of the tomato. There is, therefore, no kashrus concern whatsoever. In an effort to attempt to provide real time information I did not perform this requisite due diligence and I apologize for the confusion that this has caused. NY NY Issue: Some containers of Streit’s Quinoa UPC Codes 0-70227-60208-0 were found to contain infestation. Any possibly affected product may be returned to the stores for a refund. Under proper storage conditions, it is unusual to find infestation in these products sold in the United States. However, consumers should be aware that grains could develop infestation when stored in warm areas. To determine whether quinoa (or any other grains) are possibly affected, spread them evenly on a white surface and visually inspect them under good light prior to use.

MK Kashrus Advisory - do not use Ernie & Ellies products on Pesach April 20, 2016 - 12 Nisan, 5776 The MK withes to inform the public that Ernie & Ellies have carried out a voluntary recall for all kosher for Passover products. Ernie & Ellies products bearing the MK Passover 2016 label SHOULD NOT BE USED ON PASSOVER. DUE TO UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES, ERNIE & ELLIES RESTAURANT WILL NOT BE OPENED FOR PASSOVER THIS YEAR.
