June 12, 2017 Baker’s Corner Varieties of Frostings Brand: Baker’s Corner Product: Varieties of frosting Company: Aldi Inc. Issue: The OU currently certifies a variety of Aldi frostings as OU Pareve, including the Milk Chocolate and the Cream Cheese frosting. These products correctly bear an OU symbol. However, the same products, (from a previous supplier) are available without the OU and are non-kosher. As the older supply is depleted, this problem will be self-corrected. As always, consumers should check that each and every product has the OU symbol, and not assume that since one product has the OU , all of the same variety will have the OU

STAR-K ALERT June 7, 2017 Appliance Light Bulbs Please note for all STAR-K certified Sabbath Mode appliances, we strongly advise you not to replace the incandescent bulb that came with your appliance (refrigerator, oven) with the newer LED bulbs. The Sabbath Mode feature may not operate correctly with a bulb type that is different from the one supplied by the manufacturer.

May 5, 2017 Please note that cRc certifies Cabo Crunch, produced by Handfulls as Kosher Dairy (cholov stam) which the dairy ingredient is clearly stated in the ingredient and allergen panel. However the dairy designation next to the cRc logo was inadvertently omitted. Corrective measures are being implemented.
April 21, 2017 OU Kosher Advisory Arnold’s Bread Brand: Arnold’s Product: Various breads Company: Bimbo Bakeries USA Issue: The Orthodox Union does not certify dairy breads. Recently, many breads manufactured by Bimbo Bakeries USA, including some Arnold brand breads, were reformulated and now contain dairy. As a result, breads that were previously certified by the Orthodox Union no longer carry the OU Symbol. Consumers should look for the OU symbol to ascertain that a product is kosher.
