Vernon, CA 90058 Issue: Unauthorized Use of Heart-K Symbol Golchin Pomegranate Molasses bears an unauthorized Heart-K kosher symbol (a trademark owned and utilized exclusively by OK Kosher Certification). This product is not certified by OK Kosher Certification. Action: Corrective actions are being taken.

Issue: Due to supply chain issues, the kosher certification of this product will be discontinued over the next few months. Packaging which bears the OU symbol is in fact kosher. The uncertified product is now hitting the market. Consumers should always verify the presence of the kosher symbol before purchasing.

ALDI’S FROZEN BROCCOLI, SPINACH and CAULIFLOWER products, sold under the Simply Nature and Season’s Choice brands, products of Mexico, and Aldi’s SIMPLY NATURE OIL SPRAYS (Coconut, Avocado, Olive, Grapeseed) bear an MK symbol (an MK in a circle, with the word Kosher in Hebrew and English inside the circle to the right of the K) in some regions. Consumers should be aware that this is not the MK of Montreal or Manchester.

Please be advised this is not an authorized use of the OK Kosher certification mark. Action: Corrective actions are being taken.
Please be advised that due to a printing mistake, some packages of Sea Salt Lentil Chips produced by Enjoy Life were mistakenly labeled as cRc Pareve, when in fact, the product should be labeled cRc D.E. (dairy equipment). Corrective action has been taken. While Enjoy Life is a gluten-free company, please note that the following cRc-certified products contain oat flour and therefore requires the bracha of mezonos: Breakfast Ovals: Apple Cinnamon; Berry Medley; Chocolate Chip Banana; Dark Chocolate; Maple Fig Crunchy Cookies: Strawberry Lemonade; Crunchy Cookies Birthday Soft Baked Cookies: Monster; Oatmeal Raisins; Apple Cider Donut The above products are neither Pas Yisroel nor Yoshon.

Our celery stalk policy has been updated due to recent infestation. Non Organic – cut away & discard leaves, then wash each stalk under a stream of water. Organic – cut away & discard leaves, place stalks in bowl of soapy water; then wash each stalk under a stream of water.
Due to recent findings of thrips and baby thrips found on sugar snap peas and snow peas, we are requiring all (i.e., fresh, pre-washed, IQF) sugar snap peas and snow peas to be checked using the thrip cloth method prior to use
Please note that Jewel Osco brand Frosted Sugar Cookies produced by Granny B’s cookies contains carmine, an ingredient that the OU, cRc, and other major Kashrus agencies treat as non-kosher. Some of those cookies were mistakenly labeled with an OU symbol.
Earth Grown Vegan Shredded Mozzarella Brand Earth Grown Product Shredded Dairy-Free Mozzarella Company Aldi Inc., Batavia, IL Issue This product is being sold in two versions, from two different suppliers, one OU certified, and one not OU certified. The kosher version correctly bears the OU, and the other version does not bear the OU. The situation is being corrected with the non-kosher version being discontinued. Consumers are always advised to verify the presence of the kosher symbol.

McCLure’s Bakery Butter & Egg Dinner Roll; Cheese Bread Brand McCLure’s Bakery Product Butter & Egg Dinner Roll; Cheese Bread Company McClure’s Bakery, Gap PA Issue Unauthorized OU While the Orthodox Union certifies several McClure’s Bakery pastry products. The Orthodox Union does not certify the Butter & Egg Dinner Roll and the Cheese Bread. Some of these bread labels bear an unauthorized OU mark. Corrective actions are being implemented.
METAMUCIL PRODUCTS Consumers are advised that Metamucil has a product on the market that contains collagen, which is a non-kosher ingredient. This product, Metamucil Fiber + Collagen Peptides, is NOT APPROVED for use. See an image of the label below. Consumers are also advised that Metamucil Psyllium Fiber Capsules contain gelatin, a non-kosher ingredient. While STAR-K does not certify any Metamucil products, our site previously listed ’All Powders’ as being approved. That information has since been updated. B&G Gherkins Update & Quinoa Reminder We have identified an additional lot of B&G Gherkins found to contain insect infestation. The lot codes are printed on the side of the lid. Affected lots are: #25021 - Best By Feb 25 2023 #09031 - Best By Mar 09 2023 #24861 - Best By Jun 24 2023 #25061 - Best by Jun 25 2023 - NEWLY IDENTIFIED These lots should not be used. We have implemented additional oversight systems and procedures for the new harvest season. In the meantime, consumers of other lots currently on the market are advised to slice open each gherkin to check for possible infestation. QUINOA REMINDER: STAR-K recommends that ALL quinoa be checked prior to usage, even when there is a hechsher on the package. Infestation issues arise from improper storage, which is beyond the control of any hashgacha. Most recently, Ancient Harvest - Best by 06 29 23 - was found in the NY/NJ area to be highly infested.
