March 15, 2012 Star-K 2012 Passover Guide The Star-K 2012 Passover Directory is now available as a free download. The Star-K 2012 Passover Guide which also includes the Medicine and Cosmetic List prepared by Rabbi Gershon Bess is available at local Hebrew Bookstores or online.

The Passover Shopping Guide had listed baby powder as being acceptable for Pesach without any Passover certification. We have now discovered that some baby powders may contain oat flour. As such, baby powders are only acceptable if they only contain talc, talcum powder, corn starch, or other innocuous ingredients.

This product is dairy and corrective measures were implemented.

Some Schach distributors are selling bamboo mat Schach, claiming they are Star-K certified. Kraft North America Missing "D" - Designation Some cans of Caramel Maple Sweet Roast Pecans display an OU, without the D. This product is certified by the Orthodox Union as Dairy and should be labeled OU D. Corrective action is being implemented.

Brand: Laura Lynn Product: Honey Graham Crackers Company: Ingles Markets - Black Mountain, NC Issue: Some Laura Lynn Honey Graham Crackers are labeled with an OU Pareve, instead of OU Dairy. This product is certified by the OU and is dairy. Corrective measures are being implemented.

Brand: "M" Product: Ranch Dressing - Creamy Company: Meijer - Grand Rapids, MI Issue: Some Meijer Ranch Dressing - Creamy labels mistakenly bears an OU symbol without the D (Dairy). This product is actually dairy. Corrective measures were taken.

Suntree Assorted Mixes Brand: Suntree Product: Chocolate Nut Mix (UPC# 669887502146) Trail Mix (UPC# 669887502108) Company: Suntree, LLC - Orosi, CA Issue: These products contain dairy ingredients as listed on the ingredient panel but the dairy designation has been inadvertently omitted. Future packaging will be revised.
