6162 – Once a Ger, Always a Ger?
Q. Dear Rabbenu Shlit’a. We have in our shul a few people that have been part of our minyan for many years. They are proper converts who underwent proper Gerut by the Rabbanut in Israel. Yet lately a few of them don’t keep Shabbat properly anymore. Can they still be part of our mimyan in need? Has anyone heard of someone having their orthodox conversion annulled for not longer keeping Shabbat?
A. Poskim rule that once a peron has undergone a proper conversion, the subsequent not keeping of all mitzvos does not invalidate the conversion.
