6139 – Move from the Oven? -
Q. Kevodo Shlit’a. Is it true that one should not walk on the spot where an old oven was?
A. I think that you may be referring to statement in the tzavaa of Reb Yehuda Hachassid that it is a Sakana (danger) to break apart an old oven in order to use the ground that it was on for something else. Some people are careful to follow everything written in the tzavaa of Reb Yehuda Hachassid, while other people are not. Either way, if the oven has already been broken apart, then the act that Reb Yehuda Hachassid mentioned has already already been done, and I don’t think that there is a problem to walk on the area it was placed.
