6067 – Time to Wash?
Q. Dear Rabenu. I get up some days very early before day break, to say Selichot due to my business needs. As the Rov instructed us, I wash hands again three times before starting Shacharit. I wonder if it is even more correct to wash hands again during long Selichot at the time of a Alot Hashachar (day break) and not wait till the beginning of Shacharit?
A. Mate Efraim 12 and Nitei Gavriel (9: 6) rule that one does not need to wash hands again during long Selichot at the time of a Alot Hashachar in the middle of saying Selichot.
