Q. See question above. Can I in the above case, just take the shofar and blow it quietly in the hospital’s room bathroom?
Answer
A. It is improper to blow even the Elul Shofar in a bathroom as it is part of the Tefila and its intentions. In this particulat case, the most proper way would likely be to take the shofar to a tranquil corner of the room and blow it quietly there, or if possible, to go to an empty, unused room.
