6025 – The Real Organs Melody?
Q. Is one allowed to accept human organs, if the addition is not essential and one could survive without it, yet the quality of life would be better. How about if the body parts to be received are just for better looks?
A. Poskim rule that one is allowed to accept organs from living people, provided the recipient’s life is at risk without the donation, the donor’s life is not at risk, and no organs are harvested from the living to store in organ banks for future use.
