6020 - Extended Restrictions?
Q. Rabbi. I have another question regarding the night after Tisha Beav. I heard that we should not eat any meat and drink wine after the end of Tisha Beav until the next day. Is that true and why?
How about if we have a family party for a grand son Bar mitzva, is it permitted?
A. Shulchan Aruch (O.H. 558: 1) mentions that since the fire that consumed the Beth Hamikdash on Tisha Beav continued burning on the night after and also during the tenth day of Av, until the night. Therefore it is a proper tradition not to eat meat and drink wine during that time. The Rema (ibid) mentions that some maintain the tradition to avoid only until midday. Mishna Berura (ibid. 3) adds that when the day after is Erev Shabbat (2026) it should be kept to grant honor to Shabbat.
Following the above it would be permitted.
