#57 - Kashruth Status of Purple, Red and White carrots
Question
Heritage Carrots are being sold and the carrots are purple, red, and white. When I cooked with them, the purple carrot turned my soup purple. Do these carrots need a Hechsher? The package does not say that there are any added coloring, and I am not sure how the carrots have their colors. Thank you.

From what I can see there are a species of carrot that are purple and do bleed the color when cooked. It seems that carrots do come in various colors.
