See question above. Can one on the Shabbos Yohrzait attend a Bar Mitzva kidush after davening?
Answer
Nitei Gavriel (p. 176- 24 -4) and other Poskim maintain that on a regular Kidush one is allowed. However, if it is an occasion of a very happy Simcha occasion, then one in Yohrzait should abstain.
