6014 – Last Seudah Before Tisha Beav

Question

Rabbenu. On the Seudas Hamafsekes, is it correct that since the basic Minhag is to eat just bread, so should one avoid even dipping it in salt? If needed, can one relay on the likely case that some salt was added when baking the bread? What if one is eating it in a place outside in the fields where there is no salt?

Answer

Poskim maintain that the requirement of placing salt on the bread (or the bread contacting the salt) is only on the onset, especially if as is the bread already has salt.
