#5397 A Count that Does Not Count!
Question
If a Baal Teshuva counts in Hebrew but does not understand what he is saying. Does he comply with the mitzva? Can he continue counting then with translation?
Answer
If he counted in Hebrew and did not understand what he was saying it just does not count and he has lost the brocho. However, he should now continue to count without a brocho.
