#5202 Our Good Smelling Parsha
Question
On Parshas Toldos we read “Reeh Reiach b’ni kereyach sode asher beracho Hashem”
See that the smell of my son is like the smell of the fields that Hashem blessed.”
Talmud (Taanis 29b) explains that it was the smell of a the Eitz Hadaas (The tree of knowledge, in Gan Eden). Is it true that even men should use a similar perfume?
Answer
Indeed the Even Ezra (Ruth 3: 3) mentions that the tradition of the Gedolei Yisrael, men and women is to use proper nice smelling perfume (based also on Talmud Shabbos 111 a).
