# 4635 Planting a Shailah
Question
Dear Rabino. As you well remember, in Mexico it is already time for planting some new trees. Is there a mitzva to plant new trees on Tu Bishevat?
Answer
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that the mitzva given was for eating new fruits and not for planting new trees, even in places where it is possible and even required to do so.
