# 4445 The Long View

Question

Our shul was given as a gift a beautiful long Shofar by a great supporter of our institution. Should we replace our regular Shofar.

Answer

The long twisted shofar made usually from the African Kudu antelope, is commonly used by Yemenite communities. Yet some other congregations also occasionally use it.

Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that you may use it for the additional blowing done at the end of davening.
