Question
Dear Rov. My grandfather became totally paralyzed, but seems to be he is conscious. I know he would very much like to put on Tefilin every day as he did all his life. Can I put Tefilin on his paralyzed hand? Can I make a bracha for him?
Answer
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that you should not put on Tefilin on your grandfather, since he is unable to watch and keep himself clean and that is essential on putting on Tefilin.
