# 3959 Careful How you Walk

Question

Can a Senior use during Shabbat in need an electric walker that is not turned on and just works as a regular non-electric walker?

Answer

Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that since it may be difficult from a distance to see if the motor is on or not, it should be avoided as there may be an issue of "Ma’aras Ayin’ or doing something that looks as a prohibited act.
