Question
Dear Rabbi I heard that one should abstain from eating fresh corn on the cob in our days, because of the impending number of insect contamination. Is that true?
Answer
Small thrips (white/yellowish) and aphids can sometimes be found on the husk and can infest the kernels and hide underneath. See COR website on Information Regarding Corn on the Cob, July 6, 2012 and the procedure that should be followed.
