# 3781 Address the Stress

Question

See questions above regarding Ner Tamid . If there is a general blackout in town, does the Gabai in charge, have to go to the shul and light a candle for Ner Tamid?

Answer

Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that since Ner Tomid is in principle not an obligation, he should go if he is able to do so without excessive stress.

Rabbi A. Bartfeld as revised by Horav Dovid Pam, Horav Aharon Miller and Horav Chanoch Ehrentreu Shlit’a.
