# 3595 Any More for Any More?
On Matonos Laevyonim during Purim, is it better to donate a smaller quantity of money to more poor people, or is it preferred to give a larger amount to just a few?
Poskim disagree. Bach (O.H. 695) maintains that it is better to donate smaller amounts to many, while Shvus Yitzchok (88: 2) opines that giving two important contribution takes precedence,. (See also Kovetz Halochos 16: 10, p. 92).
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that if the gift to the poor is large enough to not embarrass the recipients, giving more is preferable.
