# 3521 Greetings and Consolations
Question
I will be attending a Shacharis minyan at an Ovel’s house, but I have to leave before the end of davening. Can I be Menachem (console) the mourner before davening?
Answer
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that one should avoid doing so, since it can be seen as a greeting prohibited before the Tefilah.
Rabbi A. Bartfeld as advised by Horav Shlomo Miller, Horav Dovid Pam and Horav Aharon Miller Shlit’a.
