Question
Should one avoid accepting Shemini Atzeres early because then he loses out on the mitzvah of Sukka? Could one just be mekabel the issur melacha?
Answer
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that even if one accepts Yom Tov early, he may still continue sitting in the Suka. However, one must recite the brocho of Leishev Basuka before the acceptance of Shemini Atzeres and not after.
