# 3297 Say it Right

Question

A person drank wine and didn’t have in mind other drinks that were not on the table. He then made a Shehakol on soda. Does he need to bless both al Hagefen and Bore Nefashos?

Answer

Mishna Berura (208: 72) rules that if the other drinks were not present at the time one recited the blessing on the wine or even if they were present but one did not have any intention to drink them, one has to recite both a separate first and last brocho. (See also Vesen Bracha p. 358).
