Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that even considering that there may be a reason to call, in order to create a Kiddush Hashem, (after all it is a case of Tous Akum and therefore permitted), if the amount is small, it may have the opposite effect. The Gentile store owner may likely become upset for being bothered for such a small amount and wasting his time.
