# 2786 A Sad Stating of Afairs

Mishna Berura (559: 17) rules that although tachanun is not recited on Tisha Beav, as it is called ’moed’ (essentially it is and in the future it will be openly a Yom Tov), hespedim can be said on a Talmid Hacham even after chatzos. Devar Shmuel (9) and others permit saying hespedim for all niftarim. They recommend also to mention the avelus of the day, so not to forget the important significance of the occassion.
