# 2165 No Partisan to the Simcha of Nisan?
Question
I’m a yeshiva bochur and my parents asked me and my siblings to attend with them and my Holocaust surviving grandmother to a Yom Hashoah act, that takes place in Chodesh Nisan. I know it is very important to them. Should I go?
Answer
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that if your attendance is indeed of great importance to your parents and they will be pained if you don’t attend, it is permitted, even during the joyful month of Nisan, when Halacha dictates that avelus, acts of grief and mourning should be avoided.
