# 1285 Don’t Break The Habit
Question
If one’s family comes originally comes from Lithuania and davened nusach Ashkenaz, but their grandfather switched to nussach Sefard to fit into a kehilla upon arriving in Toronto, which nussach should the grandson daven? I know Rav Moshe in Igros Moshe held that anyone may switch from davening nussach Sefard to nussach Ashkenaz, but does this mean that it is the right thing to do lechatchila?
Answer
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that he should maintain the nusach of the shul he belongs to or usually attends, even on the occasions he does not daven there.
