#109 - Using a kitchen before Kashering it.
Question
I just moved into a new apartment, and I did not get a chance to kasher the kitchen yet. Am I allowed to use the kitchen for cold? what about the water from the sink? I remember hearing once, that one can only use a non-kosher kitchen for a short term use? is that true?
Answer
As long as you don’t use anything heated (over 45°C) including the water in the sink, and the counters and other surfaces are clean of any food or grease remains, you can use temporarily the kitchen.
